NASA Mars Curiosity Rover BLACKOUT over 'mystery glitch' sparks conspiracy frenzy
NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover has temporarily halted science operations due to a "mystery glitch", and conspiracy theorists are convinced the space agency is hiding something.. An unknown issue is said to have occurred last Saturday, preventing the rover from beaming information back to Earth. The rover team has turned off all of Curiosity's science instruments while engineers investigate the glitch. Mission team members are also preparing to fire up the machine’s backup computer, in case they need it to diagnose the issue with the main frame. NASA scientist Ashwin Vasavada revealed the rover remains otherwise healthy, in a statement on Wednesday. “Over the past few days, engineers have been working to address an issue on Curiosity that is preventing it from sending much of the science and engineering data stored in its memory," he wrote. “The rover remains in its normal mode and is otherwise healthy and responsive.” But conspiracy theorists are not convinced.
