Hey Father Ya Didn't Give Up Your Guns For Lent? New Mass Saying Priest Sean P. Thomson Busted With .357 Magnum & 9mm Pistol Along With Pot & Booze!

(FAIRBANKS, ALASKA) -- A Catholic priest from the University of Alaska Fairbanks has been arrested on booze, guns and drug charges. Father Sean P. Thomson, 52, told an Alaska state trooper he was drunk when he was pulled over in his car Monday night, and handed the trooper a receipt instead of his vehicle registration, according to a report in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. The report says the trooper spotted the priest speeding and weaving his pickup truck on a rural highway south of Fairbanks, and trooper Christopher Bitz described Thomson as disoriented during the traffic stop. Thomson, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case told the trooper about a .357 magnum caliber handgun he had in the back of the truck but forgot to mention the 9mm pistol he had stuck in his back pocket. He also allegedly forgot to tell the trooper he had a small bag of marijuana in his sweatshirt. Pastor Thomson was arrested for drunk driving, refusing to take an alcohol test, possession of drugs, carrying a firearm while intoxicated and not telling the trooper he was carrying the handgun. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail. The report says he is on administrative leave from the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks following his arrest. Sky Valley Chronicle
