Was it started as a noble cause? No, the Libyan Day of Rage that was to usher in Modern Democracy on February 17, 2011 was started on the fifth year anniversary of the Muslim attack made on the Italian consulate in the port city of Benghazi. 

Why did the Muslims attack the Italian consulate in 2006?  Over a cartoon! The Muslim scum attacked the Italian consulate over a cartoon! In 2006 the Italian Reform Minister Roberto Calderoli appeared on Italian T.V. wearing a T-shirt depicting Muhammad as a cartoon. Muslims of course went nuts and took to the streets.

The Muslims started their 2011 protest for more democracy by remembering the day that they took to the streets over a cartoon. Aristotle said that 'a small error in the beginning will lead to a huge one in the end.'
