F.B.I. Top Ten Art Crimes ~ Caravaggio Nativity & The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Connection

CARAVAGGIO
Nativity with St Francis and St Lawrence
1609
Oil on canvas, 268 x 197 cm

Formerly San Lorenzo, Palermo (lost) ha! stolen and destroyed by the Mafia friends of the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi
Merry Christmas Silvio!

In October 1969, two thieves entered the Oratory of San Lorenzo, Palermo, Italy and removed the Caravaggio Nativity from its frame. Experts estimate its value at $32 million. Caravaggio’s Nativity with Sts. Francis and Lawrence was stolen by the Mafia on the night of Oct. 16, 1969 the feast day of Saint Hedwig, Widow. The painting was taken from the main altar of the Oratory of San Lorenzo in Palermo. Granted in 1969 Berlusconi may not been stealing art from Church altars because he was too occupied in constructing 10,500 apartments in Milan, the construction project known as Milano 2. Where did Silvio Berlusconi get the financing for his first construction project? Well Gaspare Spatuzzo a former mafia hitman claims that the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi had links to the same Mafia clan that stole and later burnt Caravaggio’s Nativity with Sts. Francis and Lawrence. The police believe that the painting could not be sold on the open market it was stolen for a private collector to raise cash. When did the crooner & lady killer Silvio establish these mafia connections? Before or after the Caravaggio was stolen? Some say that Berlusconi's Mafia connections are not established until early 1990s. Berlusconi claims that he has been a target of a Mafia smear campaign because of his anti-Mafia policies and the recent crackdown on the Mafia.Berlusconi claims that there is no Mafia connection. Was the financing of the 1969 Milano 2 construction project related to the theft of the Caravaggio Nativity?

The Day the Italian Prime Minister Silvio “I could have lost an eye” Berlusconi was publicly humiliated:
December 13, 2009 The Feast day of Saint Lucia, Virgin and Martyr (See post: Dilexisti Iustitiam Silvio “I could have lost an eye” Berlusconi not on the feast day of St. Lucia)

INTROIT ¤ Ps. 44. 8.
Dilexisti iustitiam et odisti iniquitatem: propterea unxit te Deus, Deus tuus oleo latitiae prae consortibus tuis. -- Eructavit cor meum verbum bonum: dico ego opera mea Regi. V.: Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen. Dilexisti iustitiam et odisti iniquitatem: propterea unxit te Deus, Deus tuus oleo latitiae prae consortibus tuis.

Thou hast loved justice and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. -- (Ps. 44. 2) My heart hath uttered a good word: I speak my words to the King. The painting was taken from the main altar of the Oratory of San Lorenzo in Palermo October 16, 1969. One could pay attention to the time and place of this crime. The place: a Church main altar in Palermo. The time: feast day of Saint Hedwig and during Berlusconi's Milano 2 construction project. Are the two events related? Maybe, maybe not. The only connection I can see is liturgical. It is interesting that the communion for the Mass of St Hedwig (October 16) is from Psalm 44:8 Dilexisti iustitiam (Thou hast loved justice and hated iniquity) which is the same Psalm 44: 8 that is used for the Introit and Gradual in the mass for the feast day (December 13) of St. Lucy, Virgin and Martyr. The feast day of St Lucia is on the same day that the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was publicly humiliated in an attack by a crazed Italian. The connection between the two dates of the 1969 art crime/Berlusconi's Milano 2 construction project and the 2009 attack made on the Italian Prime Minister Silvio “I could have lost an eye” Berlusconi is only liturgical. Other than that the Italian courts have to make any Berlusconi/Mafia connections. Time will tell if there is any Berlusconi/Mafia connection.
