America is not a democracy it is a republic! The only true democracy is found in America!
'America is not a democracy, it is a republic! The only true democracy is found in America!'What? Anytime the apparent failures of modern American democracy is mentioned, the defenders of modern democracy are quick to shout ‘America is not a democracy, it is a republic!’ How many times does one hear that America is not a democracy, it is a republic? Then these same defenders of modern American democracy will claim that democracy as practiced in Nazi Germany, or the Soviet Union, or communist China, or Cuba, or Venezuela etc. is not true democracy, but false democracy, or no democracy at all? Only in America is true democracy practiced!
They will say: ‘The only true democracy is practiced here in the United States, even though this is a Republic form of government and not a democracy.’ What? Yeah, this is pretty much the standard response of those who try to defend a lie. Now, mind you, Aristotle with his six categories of government was not smart enough to come up with an another category that fits American democracy. These are the six types of government as defined by Aristotle:
Best form of government:
Monarchy
Aristocracy
Polity
Worst form of government:
Tyranny
Oligarchy
Democracy
Best form of government because:
Government of one for the common good
Government of a few for the common good
Government of the many for the common good.
Worst form of government because:
Government of one for selfish ends
Government of a few for selfish ends
Government of the many for selfish ends
So even though the ballot box is used to pick and chose its leaders here in America, the American form of government is not a democracy as defined by Aristotle. No, these defenders of the biggest lie ever told will tell you it is something else altogether. American democracy falls outside of Aristotle's six categories of government. Yeah...right..
